Smoky BBQ Baked Beans

You can’t go wrong with a side of baked beans! This version has added flavors of onions, bacon and brown sugar to make this a sweet and savory dish that pairs well with any barbecue get-together.

  • 1 (16-ounce) can pork and beans, not drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 (15-ounce) can Great Northern beans, drained
  • 1½ cups barbecue sauce
  • ½ cup chopped onions
  • 8 slices crumbled cooked bacon
  • 1⁄3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup maple syrup
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika


Preheat the oven to 350°F. Combine all of the ingredients in a 3-quart casserole dish or cast-iron Dutch oven. Bake uncovered for 1½ hours until hot and bubbling. Sprinkle with smoked paprika and serve.
